Client Story
How PHM tailored Rebecca’s treatment using advanced diagnostics and expert collaboration.
Rebecca, a 44-year-old mother and wife from Canada, was diagnosed with stage 2 triple-negative breast cancer, a highly aggressive and challenging form of the disease. After undergoing surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation, she decided against pursuing further preventative measures, leading to the progression of her cancer to stage 4, which spread to her lungs and kidney. Faced with limited options, Rebecca sought assistance from Private Health Management for support and solutions.
PHM advocated for a kidney biopsy, recognizing it as an unusual site for metastasis, and organized advance molecular profiling not available in Canada. The results confirmed the presence of metastatic cancer and revealed a rare mutation along with other biomarkers that opened new treatment avenues.
These discoveries enabled a precision oncology approach, including immunotherapy combined with chemotherapy and, later, a targeted PARP inhibitor maintenance regimen.
PHM facilitated virtual consultations with leading U.S. oncology experts and worked closely with Rebecca’s Canadian doctors to integrate advanced therapies. PHM also coordinated radiation treatments to help extend her time on the treatment regimen, ensuring Rebecca received world-class care while staying close to home.
Rebecca enjoyed a vibrant and fulfilling life for more than three and a half years, showcasing the power of advanced diagnostics, precision oncology, and teamwork in care. Her journey reflects PHM’s dedication to offering patients the best treatments and holistic support for their health.
