Client Story
How PHM guided Ned to advanced imaging and innovative treatment for metastatic prostate cancer.
Ned, a dedicated physician and family man, was diagnosed with early prostate cancer at 46 and endured a 20-year battle with the disease. When his cancer progressed to stage 4, spreading to his bones and lymph nodes, effective treatment options became scarce. Eager to explore new treatment options, Ned came to Private Health Management.
PHM’s Personal Care Team carefully reviewed Ned’s medical history and molecular profiling, identifying a missed opportunity for radioligand therapy (RLT), a targeted treatment for prostate cancer. Using advanced imaging, PHM confirmed his eligibility for RLT and advised against an exploratory Phase 1 clinical trial suggested by his oncologist, opting instead for this more validated approach.
Although a form of RLT was in clinical trials in the U.S., Ned did not meet enrollment criteria. PHM coordinated his care with a leading nuclear medicine oncologist in Germany, enabling him to receive two courses of state-of-the-art RLT.This personalized approach extended his quality of life and benefitted him from highly specialized expertise abroad.
Ned lived with stage 4 prostate cancer for over three years while maintaining a high quality of life. His case underscores PHM’s capacity to combine advanced diagnostics, worldwide resources, and pioneering treatments to deliver life-prolonging care and specialized advice for intricate health issues.
